Neck Injury WorkCover Claims NSW
Whiplash, cervical strain, chronic neck pain — our WorkCover doctors and physios assess, certify and treat NSW neck injuries with same-week appointments.
Every appointment on this page is paid by the insurer under your NSW workers compensation claim. You don't receive an invoice for any of it — not for our doctors, physios, psychologists, rehab providers or compensation lawyers.
Yes — neck injury is a standard NSW WorkCover claim
If work caused or aggravated it, NSW workers compensation covers it. You don't need a single dramatic incident, and you don't need a pre-existing-condition-free history. Here's the short version of what that means for neck injury.
Work caused or aggravated it
Sudden or cumulative, new or aggravated — neck injury from work-related causes qualifies. Our doctors document the mechanism so the insurer can accept the claim.

Most claims in this category come down to a handful of mechanisms. If yours fits any of these, it's almost certainly claimable — and even if it doesn't, book an assessment anyway. The list isn't exhaustive.
- Motor vehicle incidents causing whiplash
- Slips, trips and falls at work
- Repetitive strain from screen and desk work
- Heavy lifting and overhead work
- Awkward postures during manual handling
- Being struck by falling objects

When to see a WorkCover doctor
Any of these symptoms after a work-related incident or from a work-related activity means it's time to get assessed. Early assessment gives neck injury the best chance of fast recovery.
- Neck stiffness and reduced rotation
- Headaches starting at the base of the skull
- Pain radiating into the shoulder or arm
- Pins and needles down the arm or into the hand
- Dizziness or visual disturbance after trauma
- Difficulty sleeping or holding the head up
Don't push through. The workers who recover fastest are the ones who see a doctor in the first week.
What NSW WorkCover pays for with neck injury

- GP and specialist consultations
- MRI and imaging for nerve impingement
- Physiotherapy and dry needling
- Chiropractic or osteopathic care where approved
- Pain management clinics
- Weekly income payments for lost earnings
- Lawyer costs if your claim is challenged
What the NSW data says
You would not be the first person to claim for neck injury. The national and NSW data makes that very clear.

How we handle neck injury claims
Our doctors, physios, psychologists, rehab providers and compensation lawyers all work under one roof. One phone call gets the whole team involved.
Our doctors assess the injury on your first visit and rule out nerve impingement with imaging when warranted. Our physios handle cervical mobilisation, postural retraining and graded return-to-work planning. If the neck injury came from a work-related vehicle collision, our CTP and compensation lawyers make sure you aren't stuck between two insurers.
WorkCover Physiotherapy
The frontline team for neck injury. Most workers in this category see our workcover physiotherapy team first after the initial doctor assessment.
